Laura Cavender
Founder, Bluespring Consulting
Laura began her career as a journalist before serving as a speechwriter and senior communications advisor to the president of the American Red Cross during and immediately after 9/11. She went on to lead media relations and executive communications at Georgetown University and the University of Pennsylvania — advising Penn's president directly on high-stakes messaging, media, and public visibility — before founding Bluespring Consulting in 2019.
She is a twice-elected Township Commissioner in Haverford, Pennsylvania, representing more than 5,500 residents in Ardmore, Bryn Mawr, and Haverford — a role that sharpens her understanding of public trust, constituent communications, and what it means to lead visibly in a community.
